SIMONE RUGANI

 

Simone Rugani was born in 1993 and obtained his diploma in Piano Performance at the age of 17 with full marks, studying under Nadia Lencioni. He has performed in numerous concerts and festivals in Italy and abroad, such as the “Aurora Star Music Festival” in Sweden (2012) with Urban Agnas and Jonas Bylund, “AsiagoFestival” (2017) with Duccio Beluffi and Claudio Pasceri and Casa Italiana Zerilli Marimò in New York.


He won first prize at the 26th International Piano Competiton “Città di Albenga” and the 4th “Nuova Coppa Pianisti d’Italia” Competition in Osimo.


He has recorded a CD/DVD with compositions by Cesare Galeotti as well as a CD of music by Debussy and Stravinsky for Musikstrasse, the latter as a prize won during the “Campus delle Arti” masterclass in 2013.


He has attended masterclasses with Fabrizio Datteri, Aquiles delle Vigne, Mats Widlund, Boris Berman, Pavel Gililov, Maria Grazia Bellocchio and Pier Narciso Masi. 
In 2019, he obtained a Postgraduate in Piano Performance with full marks at the “Cesare Pollini” Conservatory in Padova, in the class of Konstantin Bogino. He also attends a chamber music masterclass at the AIMRoma Academy with the Ars Duo.


Simone also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from the University of Pisa, with a thesis on the upsampling of audio files.
